Accelerating the replacement process of environmentally friendly refrigerants, the air conditioning industry welcomes a new turning point of green transformation

Under the dual promotion of environmental policies and international standards, the air conditioning industry is accelerating the elimination of high GWP (greenhouse effect value) refrigerants and shifting towards safer and more environmentally friendly new refrigerants. Recently, several domestic air conditioning manufacturers jointly issued a statement to fully promote the use of low-carbon refrigerants such as R32 and R290 in response to global environmental trends.

Traditional refrigerants such as R22 and R410A have been gradually banned in multiple countries due to their serious damage to the ozone layer. In contrast, the GWP of R32 refrigerant is only about half of it, with higher refrigeration efficiency and less charging required, which helps to reduce overall system energy consumption and operating costs. R290 (propane), as a natural refrigerant, has attracted more attention due to its zero ozone depletion value and extremely low greenhouse effect.

The promotion and use of new refrigerants have also brought about adjustments in system structure and safety standards. To this end, major brands have increased their investment in leak detection, refrigerant recovery, safety valve configuration, and other aspects to ensure that users can enjoy efficient refrigeration while also receiving safety guarantees.

The industry believes that refrigerant replacement is not only a practical requirement for environmental protection, but also a strategic choice for sustainable development of enterprises. In the coming years, with the maturity of policies, markets, and technologies, green refrigerants will be fully deployed in commercial, household, and industrial air conditioning fields, becoming the new mainstream of industry development.
